2008 Rose Parade® Theme

The 119th Rose Parade® themed "Passport to the World's Celebrations," was broadcast both nationally and internationally on January 1, 2008. The parade featured spirited marching bands from throughout the nation, majestic floral floats, high-stepping equestrian units and our very own City of Palmdale float.

General Info

On February 12, 2007, the City of Palmdale received a formal invitation from the Pasadena Tournament of Roses® Association to participate in the 2008 Rose Parade®. Participation in the Rose Parade® is not only prestigious, but also provides national recognition and attention for the city. Each year, approximately 50 million Americans watch the Rose Parade® on TV, as well as millions of international viewers in 75 territories around the world. The Pasadena Police Department estimates that approximately one million people attend the Rose Parade® each year. An additional 100,000 people visit the Post Parade® Float Viewing site during the 2˝ days following the event.
