The 119th Rose Parade
® themed "Passport to the World's Celebrations," was broadcast both nationally and internationally on January 1, 2008. The parade featured spirited marching bands from throughout the nation, majestic floral floats, high-stepping equestrian units and our very own City of Palmdale float.

On February 12, 2007, the City of Palmdale received a formal invitation from the Pasadena Tournament of Roses
® Association to participate in the 2008 Rose Parade
®. Participation in the Rose Parade
® is not only prestigious, but also provides national recognition and attention for the city. Each year, approximately 50 million Americans watch the Rose Parade
® on TV, as well as millions of international viewers in 75 territories around the world. The Pasadena Police Department estimates that approximately one million people attend the Rose Parade
® each year. An additional 100,000 people visit the Post Parade
® Float Viewing site during the 2˝ days following the event.
